Many firms of solicitors are still very defensive about their charges.
At Rutters we have very specific policies towards fees. We will always raise and discuss our charges with our clients in advance of commencing any work. Where possible we will give you an estimate of the likely overall cost involved or the best estimate we can at that time and, of course. review this with you as we progress. We will also confirm fee related issues to you in writing. We recognise that different types of problems and clients require a flexible approach to charging. We will always discuss with you the best method for you. Some clients prefer billing as the matter progresses. Some clients like us to act on an hourly rate, whilst for some clients and matters we can agree a fixed fee to give the client the benefit of certainty.
Sensitive approach with solutions
Clients appreciate the commitment we show them, in "sharing their anxieties", "suggesting solutions" and "fighting their corner". In return over the years they have showed that same loyalty to us. A large part of our business comes from existing clients or word of mouth recommendations from them. At Rutters we aim to give you a real return for your fee. This might be in terms of problem solving, sympathetic and constructive advice, compensation, or a good result on a transaction you are involved in. Ultimately, we want you to feel you have had value for your money.
